DETOX YOGA

Class duration – 60 minutes - 90 minutes

Just as a dirty towel accumulates grime, our bodies can accumulate toxins and impurities. Regular cleansing and twisting for both is essential – a regular detoxification to maintain overall well-being.

Detox Yoga is all about detoxifying our body with Twists.

In the invigorating Detox Yoga session, it commences with seated positions, gently twisting the arms and neck, progressing to articulate the spine.  Seamless transitions follow, encompassing shoulder and elbow twists, leading into hip and knee opening movements that promote flexibility and release. The vinyasa flow incorporates dynamic poses like twisted cobra, triangle, half moon, and full moon, underscoring the profound cleansing impact of twists.

Deliberate inclusion of twisted bindings alleviates stress in joints, offering a thorough internal organ massage. This holistic approach stimulates optimal blood flow, infusing the body with fresh oxygen and enhancing overall oxygen levels. Strategic targeting of the large and small intestines promotes a robust digestive system. Unlocking and binding poses invigorate circulation in tissues, ligaments, and tendons.

Detox Yoga also inculcates cleansing techniques such as Kapalbhati and Bhastrika . Kapalbhati breathwork enhances mental clarity and energizes the mind, while Bhastrika Pranayama fosters internal cleansing, ensuring a harmonious balance in the body. These practices synergistically contribute to the class’s overarching goal of rejuvenation and well-being.

The rationale behind Detox Yoga is to induce increased sweating, recognizing that our body is comprised of 70 to 90% water.

Through extensive twisting, the body generates heat, prompting a natural reaction to produce more sweat. This process effectively eliminates toxins, promoting a profound sense of purification and vitality.

Never thought that a little Twist could do wonders.
